Honey – Natural Energy for the New School Year!

by Bárbara Trujillo Gómez

About the National Honey Board

The National Honey Board is a federal research and promotion board under USDA oversight that conducts research, marketing and promotion programs to help maintain and expand markets for honey and honey products. These programs are funded by an assessment of one cent per pound on domestic and imported honey.

About Bárbara Trujillo Gómez: Fitness Expert, Yoga Instructor, Author and Life Coach

Bárbara Trujillo Gómez is one of the country’s best-loved fitness and multicultural health and wellness experts. Her message is simple: healthy is the ultimate standard of beauty.

The founder of her own fitness brand – B&B Fit and author of the exceedingly popular “…Bárbara por Atrás” – A Latin Woman’s Guide to Fitness, Bárbara brings more than 20 years of experience in fitness, nutrition and self acceptance.

Bárbara believes fitness and nutrition lead to stronger and healthier individuals.  Besides her private clients and speaking engagements, Bárbara shares her knowledge as a health and physical educator and Spanish teacher at Lisa's Learning Center in New Jersey, where she resides.

Her training methods include cardio, light weights and yoga, which incorporates mind, body and balance as a way of life.

The daughter of Cuban parents, Bárbara Trujillo Gómez was raised speaking only Spanish in the household, embracing her traditions while thriving to fit into the “new culture.”

After spending many years chasing the ultra-thin, no-curves body so often seen in magazines and television, she realized that she failed to appreciate her numerous fitness achievements. This realization led her to resign her high-powered corporate sales and marketing career to become a fitness and yoga guru as well as nutrition advocate. Today, she is a successful fitness author, certified by The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and YogaFit.

Bárbara is also an active volunteer with The American Heart Association and is a contributing writer on health and beauty for Popular Hispanics magazine.

Once again, Barbara joins the National Honey Board to share tips about energy and honey-based energizers. This time around, she presents honey as a natural source of energy for back to school.
